SQCC Honors First Tee of Savannah

August 19th 2010 -

SAVANNAH, GA (August 19, 2010) – The youth of the First Tee of Savannah received a commemorative gift today from Savannah Quarters Country Club. Savannah Quarters Country Club arranged for championship golfers Nick Price and Mark O’Meara to autograph a golf towel for First Tee. The First Tee was presented with the framed autographed towel commemorating the Kids Clinic led by Price and O’Meara last spring.

While competing in the 2010 Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf, professional golfers Nick Price and Mark O’Meara led a public Kids Golf Clinic. The clinic was co-sponsored by the First Tee of Savannah and Savannah Quarters Country Club where the event was hosted. Over 100 children and adults attended the clinic. Price and O’Meara worked with the children one-on-one and stayed afterwards to meet the First Tee participants. Price and O’Meara went on that week to win the Legends of Golf tournament in Savannah.

Savannah Quarters Country Club dedicates its support to the First Tee of Savannah throughout the year. The First Tee is a youth and character development program that teaches through the game of golf. After the presentation of the commemorative gift today the First Tee students attended a golf clinic led by SQCC’s golf professional team and practiced their own golf games. They then enjoyed lunch in the Club with etiquette lessons. They celebrated their day with an afternoon at the Club’s resort-style pool.
